Etherea CARDs are not simple microfluidic devices. Users can decide to add more functionality to the CARD itself.

An example is the RfID technology which the client can decide to embed inside the microfluidic CARD, allowing to record a lot of useful information directly on the CARD. Such information includes ID CARD numbers, production, expiration dates and specific protocol parameters which can be directly and automatically loaded by the reader device, allowing to automate the diagnostic process and to minimize errors and user operations.
